Beijing GDP Growth Estimated At More Than 10pct

Beijing's GDP growth was estimated at more than 10 percent for 2010, according to the recent local annual people's congress session.

Retail sales in the capital exceeded 620 billion yuan (93.9 billion U.S. dollars) last year, up 17 percent year on year. Per-capital disposable income for urbanites went up 8.5 percent, or 6 percent allowing for inflationary factor, and per-capital pure income for rural dwellers, up 10.5 percent, or eight percent allowing for price factor.

Beijing's fixed-assets investment totaled nearly 550 billion yuan, up more than 13 percent year on year.

The city plans to realize a GDP growth of eight percent for the current year.
