Sao Paulo Win to Hang on to Top Brazil's State Championship

The Sao Paulo soccer team held on to first place of the Sao Paulo state championship by beating Santo Andre on Sunday 3-0.

The win extended Sao Paulo's seven-game undefeated streak with six victories.

Sao Paulo scored the game's first goal in the 10th minute of play. Dribbling down to the bottom of the right side of the field, Juan crossed the ball to Dagoberto who then headed the ball into the back of the goal.

Lucas increased his team's lead in the 59th minute after knocking in a rebounded shot from Neneca. The team's third goal came in the 68th minute when Casemiro tapped in a rebounded shot off a Lucas shot on goal.

The win improves Sao Paulo to 28 points and holds on to first place based on a better record than Corinthians, Santos and Palmeiras, all with 28 points respectively. In the next round of play, Sao Paulo will travel to play at Gremio Prudente on March 20.
