Palmeiras beat Sao Bernardo 2-0 on Saturday in the 13th round of the Sao Paulo state championship.

Marcos Assuncao sent a free kick towards the Sao Bernardo's goal in the 23rd minute, finding a leaping Danilo to head in Palmeiras' first goal. The team doubled the lead in the 31st minute when Venicius rolled a great pass off to a wide-open Patrick who then tapped in Palmeiras' second goal.

The result improves Palmeiras to 28 points. They will travel to face Sao Caetano on March 20. On the same day, Sao Bernardo will travel to play Linense.
