Fluminense defeated America 3-1 on Wednesday in the second round of the second half of the Rio de Janeiro state championship.

Fluminense scored the game's first goal in the 33rd minute. Striker Rafael Moura received the ball and found an open Dario Conca in front of the net. Conca had the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.

Returning to the second half, Fluminense's goalie Ricardo Berna defended a penalty kick in the 50th minute. Three minutes later, Rafael Moura headed in a crossed ball from Conca, scoring his first goal of the night. The striker scored again in the 72nd minute off another Conca assist.

America scored its only goal in the 79th minute when Bruno Reis received a give-and-go form Felipe Assis, leaving him wide open to tap the ball easily into the back of the Fluminense net.

Fluminense will face cross-town rival Flamengo on March 13 while America hosts Bangu in the next round.
