Mohamed Bin Hammam Wants Open World Cup Bidding Process

FIFA presidential candidate, Asian Football Confederation president--Mohamed Bin Hammam, has now stated that he will make the bidding process for future World Cups more open if he is elected to the post.

The 61-year-old from Qatar contends FIFA is not corrupt, and has also defended his country's bid for the 2022 World Cup, insisting that Qatar did nothing wrong in the bidding process.

Meanwhile, he says the future bidding processes have to be transparent so that the public can see exactly what is happening.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter came under fire after the vote in December for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, which have been awarded to Russia and Qatar respectively.

There have been allegations of corruption in the bidding process, with two executive committee members suspended and four other officials sanctioned.
