Schalke signed coach Ralf Ragnick, one day after dismissing former coach and manager Felix Magath, the club announced on Thursday.
Former Hoffenheim coach Ragnick, 52, signed a three-year contract with the struggling Bundesliga club. Ragnick returns to Schalke after he left the club in December 2005 after only nine months to work for Hoffenheim that he guided in two years into the German first division Bundesliga.
Schalke sit on a disappointing tenth position whilst they have reached the German Cup final and UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Ragnick will lead the team on the pitch at the April 1.
