The Netherlands cruised to a 4-0 victory against Hungary on Friday in Budapest in a UEFA Euro 2012 Group E qualifier.
Rafael van der Vaart, Ibrahim Afellay, Dirk Kuyt and Robin van Persie all scored as the Dutch moved to a six point lead at the top of Group E.
Despite of a lively start from Hungary, Van der Vaart opened the scoring after eight minutes when he converted a pass from Wesley Sneijder. The visitors dominated from that moment on.
Barcelona midfielder Affelay scored the second just before half- time while early in the second half Kuyt finished off a slick Dutch move to make it 3-0 in the 54th minute.
Eight minutes later van Persie slotted home a pass from Gregory van der Wiel to score the fourth and final Dutch goal in a comfortable win.
The two teams meet again in Amsterdam in four days later when Hungary will be desperate to avoid a sixth straight defeat against their hosts.
