Shalke 04 midfieler Hao Junmin became the hero in China's 3-0 win over Honduras at an international soccer friendly at the Wuhan Sports center on Tuesday.
Skipper Hao Junmin contributed an assist hattrick to attract most of the limelight. He first rounded a defender before cut back a wicked pass for Huang Bowen to sidefoot home in the center of the box in the 18th minute, then whiped in another low cross to be slided in by lone striker Yang Xu at the near post.
The third one was the highlight of Hao Junmin's performance. He started an heroic solo run on the right flank, brashed off two defenders from the own half to rush about 70 meters before crossing for Yang Hao to netted his second goal of the night. [ China was held 1-1 by New Zealand three days ago and they had some better performance against a slack Honduras side, who lost to South Korea 0-4 in the last match.
China took the upper hand in the game with more possession and threats, while Honduras seemed to be weak in defence and need more time to improve under newly appointed coach Luis Fernando Suarez.
The visitors created some chances in the second half, but their efforts were denied by an in-form keeper Cheng Yuelei.
