Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has been hit with a two-match ban after firing off offensive language into a pitchside camera during the team's 4-2 win at West Ham.
His club has now launched an appeal.
Man U is pressing to try to make it only a one-game suspension, and a hearing could be held on Wednesday.
A one-match ban would result in Rooney missing Saturday's Premier League game at home to Fulham, while a two-match suspension would also rule him out of the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley on 16 April.
Rooney has apologized after the victory, which moved United seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The 25-year-old potted three goals in 14 minutes during the match to help his side recover from 2-0 down.
Elsewhere in Italian Series A League, it's reported that AC Milan have been fined 20-thousand euros after fans directed lasers into the eyes of Inter Milan coach Leonardo and held insulting banners during Saturday's 3-0 victory.
