The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government approved Monday a grant of 2 million Hong Kong dollars, or about 250,000 U.S. dollars, from the Disaster Relief Fund to help earthquake victims in Yunnan.

A government spokesman said he hoped the grant would be conducive to relief efforts in Yunnan. He called on relief agencies to submit an evaluation report and an audited account of the use of the grant after the relief project has been completed.
