Textile strike from Feb 14 to oppose hike in yarn prices (India)

In order to oppose the hike in yarn prices, textile manufacturers, power loom owners, yarn dealers, textile retail dealers as well as wholesale dealers and textile shops will be closed for two days from February 14.
This decision has been taken by the textile traders as well as manufacturers at a meeting which was attended by over 500 traders and power loom owners.
President of the Erode Cloth Merchants Association, C B Gunsekaran, revealed that price of yarn has enhanced four times within one year s period.
The association has urged the Union and the state governments to take the necessary actions in order to curtail the yarn prices.
