Asian Benzene Slumps on Japan Earthquake

Asian benzene price hiked greatly by $33/mt Friday, hit by the earthquake that struck the eastern parts of Japan in the afternoon. JX Nippon Oil & Energy carried out an emergency shutdown of its aromatics units at its Sendai, Kashima and Negishi refineries.
Meanwhile, NWE benzene price edged down $6.50/mt to $1233/mt FOB Rdam.
