Target intends to revamp the appearance of the home textiles section at its retail stores by giving it a look which focuses more on items rather than brands, a top official of the retailing brand said.
Kathryn Tesija, Executive Vice President of Target s merchandising arm, said that the new look of the section would provide the visitors an opportunity to have a look at the complete assorted collection while saving them the efforts to search across various aisles.
Buyers are now more focused on replacement of personalized products, and the new arrangement, while making shopping more hassle-free, would also make it possible for the company to showcase more products in the same space available, Tesija said.
The official informed that the department would evolve with its new look in September.
She stated that the retailer plans to boost its Target Home brand and take it to the level of its relaunched Room Essentials brand. Besides enlightening Target Home brand s traits, she said, this would boost its style content and place it at a better position on the fashion curve.
The Missoni for Target collection which incorporates apparels and accessories for women, kids, men and girls is scheduled to hit the markets in September this year.
Gregg Steinhafel, Chairman, President and CEO of Target, said the company intends to achieve a sales turnover of at least US$ 100 billion by 2017.
Target s new website, its expansion plans for Canada by first part of 2013, the new City Target formats lined up for debut during next year, and soaring online sales are all looked upon as the factors that would help the retailer attain its target by 2017.
