Dongfeng Motor Co., a joint venture between Nissan Motor Co. and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., announced Tuesday that it will invest 50 billion yuan (7.76 billion U.S. dollars) over five years to 2015 to expand its production and sales.
The company aims to lift its sales to 2.3 million units by 2015, it said in a statement. The number of dealerships in China will be increased to 2,400 from 1,400, the statement said.
Auto sales of the company totaled 1.275 million units last year, up 37.8 percent from a year earlier.
The company's president Kimiyasu Makamura told reporters that the company plans to introduce 30 new models in China over the next five years.
