The European Commission Tuesday gave green light to the proposed acquisition of German electronic equipment supplier Medion by Chinese computer producer Lenovo.
"The Commission's assessment revealed that Lenovo and Medion combined market shares are generally moderate and that a number of credible competitors will remain active for those products," the European Commission said in a statement.
The Commission concluded that the deal would not significantly impede effective competition on the European market.
Lenovo, a leading Chinese computer maker and IT services provider, announced the proposed deal on June 1 and notified the European Commission on June 20.
