China's top quality supervisor said Friday that Procter & Gamble (P&G) is recalling 35,892 bottles of imported Oral-B mouthwash products as the company detected possible microbial contamination.
The products affected were manufactured in Colombia, with the "best before" date running from Friday to June 30 of 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement.
According to the AQSIQ statement, the recall involves the Oral-B tooth and gum care alcohol-free mouthwash (350 ml and 500 ml).
The microbial level in these products pose no risks to healthy people, but might affect people who have serious immune system diseases, P&G (China) said in a statement on its website.
The company advised consumers to stop using the affected products and contact P&G for a refund by calling 800-8302608 or 400-8302608. The customer service will start handling the refund from Saturday, it said.
P&G is also recalling the products in Canada and United States.
