The soon-to-be-opened Beijing-Shanghai express railway will establish a combined transport service at Shanghai station with the airline company, which enables passengers to transfer from railways to airplanes without taking other transportation, according to an agreement signed by the railway department of Shanghai and China Eastern Airlines on June 23.
It is planned that passengers from Tokyo, Seoul, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong who travel by air can take train to Wu Xi, Hangzhou and other cities in Yangtze River Delta region after the launch of the high-speed railway, and passengers are allowed to book tickets both for airlines and trains at the designated Eastern Airlines' site.
In addition, ticket changing service for the two transportations is also accessible at both railway department and airline companies.
