Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of China launched its branch office in America on June 18, marking a big step forward in Gree's globalization process.
Dong Mingzhu, president and deputy chairman of Gree Inc, said that as Gree is an international brand with core technology in energy conservation, its sales volume of residential air conditioners has occupied the No.1 global position for six consecutive years. The launch of Gree s products will offer help in America's economic resurgence.
U.S. Congresswoman Judy May Chu, known as Zhao Meixin in Chinese, was also present at the opening ceremony.
According to the introduction on its official site, Gree brand products are distributed to more than 100 countries and regions in the world, making it the world's largest specialized air conditioner company integrating R&D, manufacture, sales and service. It currently has manufacturing bases in Zhuhai (headquarters), Chongqing, Hefei, Brazil, Pakistan and Vietnam, with a total of more than 40,000 employees.
