China's national animation industry demonstration park opened on Friday in north China's city of Tianjin after completion of its first phase construction.
Located in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, the animation park was built by the Ministry of Culture and the Tianjin Municipality, according to an official from the eco-city's management committee.
The park has specifically designated areas for animation production, research and training, according to the official.
More than 180 companies and institutions have registered to take residence in the park. The second phase construction is expected to be finished in 2012, the official said.
The park will also provide copyright protection services and professional training for related enterprises, the official said.
The Tianjin Eco-City, located in the Tianjin Binhai New Area, is a joint project between China and Singapore. It is designed to be a sustainable community that meets the needs of urbanization. Enditem
