China's online video content provider Youku.com has officially entered into the search business by launching its independent video search website at www.soku.com, providing users with professional video search services that cover all mainstream video websites.
Industry insiders believe that the launch of a special search engine in the video sector means that video services, which are a major application on the Internet, have begun to be subdivided in terms of functions. In addition, Youku.com said that it would cooperate with China Telecom and China Mobile to offer video services on multiple platforms such as PCs, mobile phones and tablets.
