Workers apply traditional techniques to fiber spinning.

A Jiangxi textile company has found a way to use modern technology to make ramie fiber for top textile fabric for sale on the Chinese and international markets.

Ramie comes from an Asian shrub and was the earliest natural fiber used in China, more than two millennia ago.

It is used for all kinds of household items, from clothing to bedding and is strong, cool, breathable, and antibacterial.

If it is mixed with cotton, silk, or wool, it produces a unique material that overcomes the shortcomings of the four fibers.

Now, the Enda Home Textiles Co, a large enterprise engaged in fiber spinning and fabric weaving, has adapted international technology to produce a top ramie fabric that it calls "rich silk".

The main focus of the company, whose headquarters are in Xinyu, Jiangxi province, is on research, development, and production of ramie fabrics.

It has a well-developed, professional product research team, whose innovative techniques combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.

Enda uses its "rich silk" fabric for a variety of advanced textile products that are popular among both Chinese and international customers.

Its products are sold on the Chinese mainland, in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Europe, the United States, and Africa.

Industry analysts have called "rich silk" a revolutionary development of China's ramie textile industry, something that is in keeping with the world's move towards low-carbon, environmentally friendly industries.

This ramie fabric also brings a noble, elegant, yet leisurely quality to the lives of customers, Enda said.
