Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family is also called Chen Clan Academy which was built in the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1894) with donations of members from the Chen family who lived in 72 different counties in Guangdong province.
The Chen Clan Academy is used as sacrifices to ancestors and for study and imperial examinations, located on Zhongshan Road, Liwan district of Guangzhou city. The whole project was designed in traditional Chinese symmetrical style, with six courtyards, nine main halls, and nineteen buildings divided by walls.
