The 56th session of International Statistical Institute was held in Lisbon, Portugal recently. The delegation of National Statistical Society of China (NSSC) headed by Mr. Li Deshui, Director of NSSC attended the meeting by the invitation of Congress organizers. Beijing Institute of Statistics, Shandong Province Statistical Society, and the oil statistics branch of China Patrol respectively organize a delegation to attend the Congress. China Statistics sector (excluding Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan regions) were 58 representatives participated in this event.
Messrs. Paulo Gomes, Chairman, ISI2007 International Organizing Committee; Niels Keiling, President, International Statistical Institute; Pedro Silva Pereira, Minister, Portugal Prime Minister's Office; An bal Ant nio Cavaco Silva, President of Portugal respectively gave remarks in the opening ceremony. Nearly 3,000 deputies from more than 120 countries and regions gathered in Lisbon to participate in this event. |
