Chairman of ISI Emerging Markets Visited NBS

Mr. Xie Hongguang, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, interviewed the delegation headed by Mr. Gary Mueller, Chairman of ISI Emerging Markets, on August 15.

Mr. Xie Hongguang expressed his warm welcome to the Delegation. Mr. Xie introduced that, China s economic development has made remarkable achievements since reform and opening up over 30 years. The international community pays more attention to China currently with increasing demands for statistical information to reflect the status of China s economy. In order to adapt to the changing needs, NBS has consulted the experiences of advanced countries, actively meet the international practices, strengthening standardization of statistical information release system, and joined the GDDS (General Data Dissemination System).

Mr. Gary Mueller hoped to strengthen and expand the cooperation with the China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC) was supported by Mr. Xie Hongguang. Moreover, Mr. Xie wished the cooperation will achieve good results in virtue of this platform, so that China s statistical data could provide better services to the investors and researchers.

Messrs. Xu Yiefu, Director-General, Ye Zhicai, Deputy Director-General, China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC), and Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, attended the meeting.
