The Producer's Price of Major Agricultural Products Rose by 6.4% in the First Quarter

In the first quarter, the national producer s price of major agricultural products was up by 6.4% as compared with same period of last year, NBS's producer s price survey results on 31000 agricultural holdings showed. Crop planting, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery rose by 4.2%, 2.6%, 10% and 5.8% respectively.

In term of crops planting products, the producer s price of grain crops rose by 6.6% as compared with that same period of last year. Of which, cereal, wheat, corn and rice rose by 8%, 9.4%, 1.2% and 13% respectively; that of legume almost remained same level; that of potato rose by 3.1%; cotton dropped by 22%; that of oil-bearing products dropped by 0.6%; that of sugar, vegetables, fruit, tea-leaf and tobacco leaf rose by 7.6%, 5.2%, 2.5%, 11% and 1% respectively.

In term of forest products, the producer s price of timber rose by 2.9% as compared with that same period of last year. Of which, bamboo rose by 6%, glue grease and fruits rose by 2.4%.

In term of livestock products, the producer s price of slaughtered and fattened hogs rose by 11.9% as compared with that same period of last year, meat cattle and beef, live sheep and goats, dairy products, feather products, poultry and poultry eggs rose by 2.9%, 5.1%, 1.2%, 7.6%, 10.5% and 12% respectively.

In term of fishery products, the producer s price of seawater aquatic products rose by 0.9% as compared with that same period of last year; of which, seawater fish, seashell rose by 0.2% and 5.1% respectively; the producer s price of freshwater products rose by 10.4% as compared with that same period of last year; of which, freshwater fish and freshwater shrimp and crab rose by 10% and 16.8% respectively.

Note: the producer s price of agricultural products refers to the unit price of agricultural products directly sold by the producers.
