Frontier defense officers and men dressed with fit uniform

The reporters learned from the Lanzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People s Liberation Army (PLA) on December 22 that all the officers and men of the Lanzhou Theater had been dressed with the 07-style fit uniform. Liu Rongjin, director of the Quartermaster, Materials and POL Division of the Joint Logistics Department of the Lanzhou MAC, said that thanks to the implementation of the remote figure measurement and size determination and the all-round precise support of the special vehicles in the past three years, all the frontier defense officers and men garrisoning China s northwest frontier had been dressed with new fit uniform on schedule.

In light of the reality that the garrison areas of the plateau frontier defense officers and men are scattered, the Lanzhou MAC implemented precise support. It measured all the figures of the servicepersons in the MAC and had each of the servicepersons tried on the size of the 07-style uniform. It also established a file of the size of the 07-style uniform for each serviceperson.

To ensure the plateau frontier defense officers and men who were sealed in the mountains by snow to be dressed with the new fit uniform, the Xinjiang MAC implemented the remote figure measurement and size determination by making use of the television and telephone visual system. The Xinjiang MAC, the Gansu Provincial Military Command (PMC) and the Qinghai PMC specially distributed the 07-style uniform to each serviceperson of the frontline frontier defense troop units (elements) on plateau and small-sized, scattered and remote units one by one.

In view of the difficulty of the new uniform in washing, airing in the sun and storing, they also distributed dry washers to each organic brigade and regiment, established 56 new sunlight cloth-drying sheds and opened dry cleaning service sites, offering great convenience to the grassroots officers and men.
