First Bunker of Concrete Poured at Power Supply Station Lot BDY-C-1 for Myanmar Myitsone-Chipwi HPP Project

At 10:00AM, August 30, 2009 local time, the first bunker of concrete was poured for the dam of the Power Supply Station Lot BDY-C-1 for Myanmar Myitsone-Chipwi HPP Project, marking the project had realized the second milestone on schedule, and the construction would start the new stage of civil work and concrete grouting.

The power station project lies on the Qiper River, a branch of the Nmai Hka River, the upstream of the Ayeyarwady River in Myanmar, and CGGC has undertaken the construction of the BDY-C-1 bid (the dam bid). The dam is a concrete gravity dam with a dam top elevation of 747.5m, the lowest base level of 700m at the riverbed, the biggest dam height of 47.5m, a dam length of 220m, a dam top length of 5m and the biggest dam length of 47.5m.

To ensure the first bunker of concrete was poured on schedule, the Power Supply Station Lot BDY-C-1 for Myanmar Myitsone-Chipwi HPP Project Department of China Gezhouba Company Limited has overcome various difficulties, including frequent design changes, poor geological conditions and difficult passage, stepped up the resource allocation, scientifically arranged production, and pressed ahead with the construction progress in the rainy season. The sandstone system and the mixing system had passed the acceptance in succession, which provided a good condition for the pouring of the first bunker of concrete. During the pouring, the project department prepared two construction schemes, and ensured the orderly linkage between different working procedures. After the continuous struggle of 40 hours, the first bunker of concrete of 498m3 finished pouring on schedule, and the excellent pouring quality was extolled by the client and the supervision company.
