On June 1, 2010, CGGC No. 2 Engineering Co., Ltd. finished pouring the eighteenth bunker of concrete at the 15th bidding section of the Jinping First-class Hydropower Station Dam undertaken by the company. The concrete pouring at the 14, 15 and 16 bidding sections of the right bank work has all reached the 1,625m elevation, and the first node objective for the concrete pouring on the right bank of the dam has been smoothly fulfilled.
The dam of the Jinping First-class Hydropower Station is the world s highest concrete double-curvature arch dam under construction, involving great difficulty in construction. CGGC No. 2 Engineering Co., Ltd. has undertaken the task to pour concrete on the right bank dam. Since the pouring of the first bunker of concrete on the right bank dam, all the employees of the company participating in the work have displayed the CGGC spirit of enduring hardship and fighting hard, overcome various difficulties such as the tight construction period, the heavy task and serious interference on construction, and fulfilled such tasks of solidifying and grouting the dam base and refilling the fault. By June 1, the project department had poured 221,700 cubic meters of concrete, and solidified and grouted a total length of 46,408m, thus successfully fulfilling the first node objective and laying a solid foundation for the power generation of the first generating unit in 2012.
At present, the construction of the hydropower station has entered the critical stage, and the figure progress of the dam main body work will directly relate to the fulfillment of the objective to put the first generating unit into production.
