Water Collecting Pipeline Project Commenced in Algeria

MCC International Trading Co., Ltd. announced recently that, in the name of MCC Group, it had formed a joint venture with Hebei Geological Mining Group, which had been awarded with the Water Collecting Pipeline Project in In Salah of Algeria. The contract was approved by Algerian Contract Committee on September 9, 2009, and the formal commencement order was issued on October 1, 2009. With a construction period of 30 months, this project mainly consists of the following works: pump facilities for 24 wells, water transferring system, water quality maintaining system, water pool at the start-point and power supply.
On December 16, 2009, the Supply Contract for the electric installation under the project was inked between ABB and the joint venture of MCC-Hebei Geological Mining in Algeria. Mr. Shen Baosheng, Chief Representative of MCC-Hebei Geological Mining , and Mr. Alias Mouallem, Project Manager of ABB, signed the contract respectively on behalf of the two parties.
As one of the key projects of Algeria, the Drinking Water Facility between In Salah and Tamanghasset is located in Sahara Desert in the south of the country. Tamanghasset is city of severe water shortage. Under this project, water will be transferred from In Salah with a long distance of 750 km. It is called as a project of the century on account of its large scale and complicated works.
In view of its unique geographical position, the project site is under vile weather and tough construction conditions. Under such a hardship circumstance, the project staff will proceed with confidence to conquer all the difficulties and meet the challenges with full passion.
