Foreign friends' visit to Furong Tea House

National famous expert of Yu Gu is giving a performance.

Jinan, July 30 Staff from the City of Springs Website went to Furong (Lotus) Tea House with some foreign friends. Though the weather was very hot, they were very glad to go there to taste the traditional Chinese culture. Their attentions were deeply drawn by the big Chinese character Tea at the first sight. When entering the tea house, foreign friends showed their great interest in the traditional decoration of the tea house. On the beam is hanging old lanterns with ancient paintings, meanwhile, there are lots of ancient paintings and poems on the wall.

The tea house is of antique flavor with ingenious stage, which is elegant and charming. With two layers and a total area of 300 square meters, it can hold 100 people, which is suitable for people to hold some culturally characteristic activities.

A variety of performances including stand-up comedy, crosstalk, clapper talk, opera and Yu Gu (a percussion instrument made of bamboo), were conducted and most of the performers are elderly artistes.

Foreign friends spoke highly of the performances. They praised for the actors expression and conducted interaction with actors. After the performance, they visited the cheongsam (a kind of traditional Chinese clothes) store operated by the tea house owner Li Tao. In the store are many cheongsams and craftworks, as well as a spring, which is used for making tea.

Finally they visited the Guandi Temple neighboring the tea house where people often burn incense and pray for good luck and fortune for themselves or their family. April 4 is the birthday of Guandi, and we will invite the statue of Guandi to have a tour around Furong Street. Welcome all friends to participate, said Li Tao, owner of Furong Tea House.
