British Designer Introduces Landscape Buildings of 2011 Xi`an International Horticultural Exposition

Upon the completion of main buildings of 2011 Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition, Eva Castro, one of the designers of symbolic building of Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition and a leader of global landscape urbanism, came to the site of International Horticultural Exposition on the afternoon of Aug. 25 to introduce her understanding on the convergence of landscape and building.

Eva was responsible for the design of three symbolic buildings including Creative Nature Pavilion. During the holding of International Horticultural Exposition, the Creative Nature Pavilion will showcase the latest achievements and products in garden, horticultural, plant and flower sectors, as well as new environmental protection technologies and new materials.

Standing on the second floor of the Creative Nature Pavilion to be completed, Eva introduced her ideas of integrating artificial building with the natural environment to emphasize on the theme of Xi an International Horticultural Exposition Harmony and Co-existence of the City and the Nature in his design process from the prospective of landscape urbanism.

She also believes that besides the convergence of buildings and landscapes, cooperation of working personnel with different backgrounds and exchanges of different cultures are also important in construction of the International Horticultural Exposition.

Eva has paid close attentions to the progress of International Horticultural Exposition. She had visited Xi an for six times. The city has left the impressions of energetic and fast-developing on her. She believes that design of building for Xi an with rich cultural and historical cultural relics is a kind of intangible incisive for her. She hoped that the three symbolic buildings designed her for International Horticultural Exposition will become the cultural heritage of the city in the future.

It is noted that all kinds of work of International Horticultural Exposition has progressed smoothly at present. The buildings of the park entered the transition period from independent system construction to equipment installation. The four symbolic buildings of the park have been completed except for Guangyun Gate. According the plans, construction of exhibition areas of International Horticultural Exposition will be completed before the end of this year.
