Annual Custom of Chaoshan:Having the "Thick Soup with Seven Vegetables" on the Seventh Day of the First Lunar Month

There is a traditional custom to have "seven vegetables" on the seventh day of the first lunar month in Chaoshan region, to express their good wishes in the new year. On February 9, people go to the farm product market to buy seven vegetables (i.e. Chinese mustard, chard, celery, garlic, spring vegetable, leek, and cabbage mustard), and elaborately cook the traditional and typical "thick soup with seven vegetables" at home for both delicious food and good luck.
