During a press conference held by the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office on May 12, the spokesperson Yang Yi announced that the Exit and Entry Departments under the Public Security Bureau in Guangdong Province will be authorized to reissue or replace Taiwan Compatriots entry permit for Taiwan residents as of May 25, 2010.
It means that Taiwan people in Guangdong can apply for the Taiwan Compatriots entry permit in Guangdong since May 25, which is valid for five years.
A Taiwan resident whose Chinese visa or certificate is lost or damaged, upon expiration or endorsements is about to run out of pages can apply for a new one or replacement certificate from the exit and entry department under the local Public Security Bureau, said Yang.
There are more that 0.2 million permanent residents from Taiwan in Guangdong, over one third are in Dongguan, i.e. about 0.09 million.
