Dongguan is set to give old-age allowances to its residents older than 80 years of age beginning this month according to a report from the Guangzhou Daily on August 4.
According to the report, residents older than 80 years and younger than 90 years are entitled to a monthly allowance of 100 yuan. Residents older than 90 years and younger than 100 years old are entitled to a monthly allowance of 200 yuan, and those older than 100 years old will be entitled to a monthly allowance of 300 yuan. The policy is expected to benefit 37195 residents who are older than 80 year s old living in dongguan.
