According to the 2010 Pearl River Delta Enterprises Wage Reseach Report released by Guangdong Zhitong Talents Chains and China Wage Website on Monday (Nov. 8), the average monthly wage for employees in Dongguan is 3,402 yuan.
Eight industries in seven PRD cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Jiangmen have been researched in the report. Dongguan's average wage ranks the 1st among these 7 cities. Shenzhen ranks 2nd place with the average monthly wage of 3,331 yuan and Guangzhou placed 3rd with a 3,200 yuan average monthly wage.
The researched industries include eight pillar industries in the PRD region such as IT manufacturing, electric appliances, electronics, furniture, textiles, metal, mould and plastic mould. Take the same position for example, the monthly wage for employees in IT manufacturing will be the highest. Wages in electric appliances and electronics manufacturing rank comparatively higher than those in textiles, furniture and mould industry.
The researched enterprises are mainly medium-sized enterprises, 47% of which are foreign-owned, 37.1% private-owned and 15.9% joint venture enterprises. The annual turnover of 43.8% enterprises researched ranged from 50 million yuan to 0.2 billion yuan while that of 6.1% enterprises are over 1 billion yuan.
