Dongguan government is going to grant low-income disadvantaged groups in the city a temporary subsidy which includes a monthly allowance of 60 yuan for 3 months and a lump sum of 180 yuan for each person to help them meet rising living costs, the local authority revealed on Monday.

In recent months, the CPI in Dongguan has grown. Food prices in September and October have risen by 6% and 8.2% respectively. The rising prises have produced great impact on the life of low-income groups.

Now the government has decided to hand out temporary subsidy to low-income groups among the city's registered household, which is set to benefit 56,000 qualified residents. Expectations are that the subsidies will reach a total of 1.015 million yuan.
