CAS inks collaboration agreements with French partners

At the invitation of Prof. Catherine Brechignac, president of the French National Center for Scientific Research, CAS President LU Yongxiang leads a delegation to visit France from 7 to 10 December. Several protocols on S&T cooperation were striken between CAS and French S&T institutions during the trip.


Upon the invitation of Prof. Catherine Br chignac, president of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), CAS President LU Yongxiang, who is also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's top legislature NPC, led a delegation to pay a visit to France from 7 to 10 December.
During his trip, Prof. Lu visited a lab for coastal environment jointly established by La Rochelle University and CNRS, the CNRS headquarters, the French Academy of Sciences, and the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea.
The CAS delegation signed several protocols with its French partners, including a CAS-CNRS agreement on international cooperative research into absorption spectroscopy of important elements in atmospheres of the Earth and planets among China, France and Russia; and a CAS-CRNS agreement on Sino-French joint lab on clean energy sources.
