Xia Deren met William Rhodes, vice president of Citibank
The International Envoy of Finance and Executive Vice President of Citibank, William Rhodes, was honored as honorary citizen of Dalian yesterday. Xia Deren, secretary of Dalian Municipal Committee and Li Wancai, vice mayor of Dalian met with Mr. Rhodes respectively.
Xia Deren expressed thanks to Mr. Rhodes' great support for the settlement of Citibank in Dalian. He said that Citibank developed steadily and healthily in Dalian despite the world financial crises. "The Central Economic Working Conference brought opportunity to the economic development of China. The sustainable growth of domestic demand caused Dalian to play the leading role in the strategy of opening and developing Liaoning coastal economic belt, which creates greater opportunity to the development of Dalian." He went on to say that Citibank will gain a greater space to develop in Dalian."
Yesterday, Mr. Rhodes received the certificate and badge of Dalian Honorary Citizen award, a golden key from Li Wancai, vice mayor of Dalian, and he was engaged as the senior financial consultant of Municipal Government. Dai Yulin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Dalian Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Dalian and Chen Limin, director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People s Congress also attended the meeting.
