Papua and New Guinean Media Delegates Visited SZU

On the morning, Nov, 3, 2009, a visiting team of 8 delegates from Media industry of Papua and New Guinea (P. G) came to SZU. Vice President Ruan Shuangchen and Director Gao of International Affairs and some graduate students of SZU met with the guests at Room 201, President Office.

Vice President Ruan expressed his welcome to the P. G guests. He briefed SZU history and the latest development happening at SZU, he said SZU has established broad cooperative ties with many universities around the world, hosting each year about 1300 international students. He hoped as the tie between P. G and China became closer and closer, there would be more and more students and teachers from P. to study or exchange in China.

Mr. Michael Asagoni, the head of the visiting group extended his sincere gratitude to SZU for hosting them. He said the delegates represented the major media companies and new editors of P. G. He said higher education was a new and growing cause due to the country s short history since independence. He hoped through this visit that he could learn the experience of higher education, from Chinese universities in hope of building long standing relationship between the two countries.

After the meeting, Vice President Ruan presented some gifts to the guests, and the graduate students had a face-face talk with the P. G guests. The two sides exchanged ideas about wide-range issues.
