2008 opening ceremony is held

The opening ceremony 2008 was held on September 7th. More than 7,000 new students including domestic students, students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas students from more than 50 countries, such as U.S, U.K., France attended the ceremony.

Mr. Hu Jun, president of our university extends warm welcome to the new students and gave a brief introduction on the 100 years of history and the current development of our university. He said to the new students that the accomplishments of our university, a paramount school for overseas Chinese, have been very striking in recent years: the success of holding centenary celebration of our university in 2006; the success of passing the undergraduate teaching assessment and being rated excellent in 2007, etc.
