World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick Meets with USTC Students

Mr. Robert B. Zoellick, President of the World Bank, visited USTC on the morning of September 3 and met with students for a discussion. USTC President Hou Jianguo presided over the meeting and Vice President Chen Chusheng was also present.

After a briefing on the World Bank's projects with China during the past few years, Mr. Zoellick talked with the students in English for about 40 minutes and answered their questions. The students were impressed with his candor and enthusiasm.

Before the discussion, Prof. Hou and Prof. Chen met with Mr. Zoellick and his party. Prof. Hou presented Mr. Zoellick with a souvenir on behalf of USTC and Prof. Chen gave them an overview of USTC.
