On October 30th, the signing ceremony of Talent and Technology Cooperation Framework Agreement between the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and SJTU was held grandly at SJTU. Vice chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Bu Xiaolin, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of SJTU, Zhang Jie attended the ceremony and signed the Agreement respectively on behalf of the two sides.

Inner Mongolia and SJTU Signed  Talent and Technology Cooperation Framework Agreement

It is in the principle of "complementary advantages, mutual benefits, sincere cooperation and common development" that the Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and SJTU made the decision to establish a long-term strategic partnership on talent and technology that is steady, comprehensive and close, and carry out cooperation and exchanges through multiple channels, on different levels and in various forms, in aspects ofscience and technology projects, the integration of production, learning and research, building a platform for research and development and the cultivation and introduction of talents.

SJTU and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will carry out cooperation of talents and science and research in the following areas: the pillar industries of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, such as metallurgy, equipment manufacturing, rare earth industry, coal chemical industry and new material industry; the emerging industries of strategic importance, such as biomass energy, wind energy, solar energy, clean coal, rare earth and new materials, advanced equipment manufacturing, energy saving and emission reduction and recycling resources; ecological environment protection and construction, district revegetation and recovery and promoting the industrialization of technological innovations in husbandry. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will give full play to its advantages in policy, environment, humanity and resources, and effectively combine them with the advantages of SJTU in science and technology and talents, to achieve complementary advantages and common development.

Vice President Wu Dan hosted the meeting. Also present at the meeting were Undersecretary of the Organization Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee, Wu Kaile, deputy secretary general of the Regional Government, Li Chunguang, deputy Director of the Office of Science and Technology, Ma Qiang and other relevant department leaders of nearly 20 people, and leaders and experts from President Office of SJTU, Researching Centre of Science and Technology Promotion, Teaching Division, School of Graduates, Division of Personnel, Steering Committee for Student Affairs and relevant schools, altogether over 20 people.

The signing of this Agreement marks the step into a new phase of deepening university-region cooperation between the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and SJTU, which bears much significance for Inner Mongolia to improve construction of scientific and technological innovation, reform the mode of economic growth and develop emerging industries of strategic importance, as well as for SJTU to promote the level of scientific research and transformation of scientific research achievements, and urge the scientific research to better serve the development of national economy.

After signing the Framework Agreement, SJTU Light Alloy Net Forming National Engineering Research Center-LAFNERC and Erdos Tianxu Light Alloy Co., Ltd. signed the Agreement of "Cooperation in building the Erdos Division of SJTU LAFNERC and the Demonstration Base of the Production and Product Processing of High Performance Rare-Earth-Containing Magnesium Alloys". A meeting of the high-level talents from Inner Mongolia now working in Shanghai was held after the signing ceremony.
