Shuanglong Mountain Forest Park

Shuanglong Mountain Forest Park is located in the northwest mountainous area of the Thirteen Ming Tombs Scenic Spot of Changping District. To get here, go from the Badaling Expressway to the tourist line of Changping s Thirteen Ming Tombs World Cultural Heritage Scenic Spot, or go along 108 National Road. It was built up as a tourist spot in 1999, and is a comprehensive forest ecological scenic spot integrating sight-seeing, recreation, outbound training, and education of environmental protection.

The scenic spot has exuberant variety of herbs and plants that will arouse the plant-love in anyone. The average temperature in the summer is about 7 to 9 C lower than that of downtown Beijing. Training bases, including a Youngsters Popular Science Education Base, a Green-Action Tree-Planting Base, a Garden of Picking and Growing, and FolkCustomsVillage were all built in succession near the area for everyone s benefit. Youngsters education will overflow with such wonderful courses, training children in things like survival in the wildness, environmental protection, popular science, as well as other tourist activities such as experiencing other simple folk customs, planting trees, and picking flowers. The park has become an ideal place for all kinds of tourist groups in the outskirts of Beijing.
