DGCA cracks down

The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked all Indian carriers to make their fares public. This move is in order to satisfy travellers who otherwise feel cheated at the prices. Despite government disapproval, airlines raised their fares by 200-300% last month, as quoted by eTravel Blackboard. Major airlines such as Kingfisher and Jet Airways have been asked to reveal their tariff structures via daily newspapers or websites.

In related news, New Delhi looks likely to develop the Delhi International Airport (DIAL) Terminal IA as a fully operational domestic and international transit hub for low cost carriers.
