Tony Fernandes, chief executive, Air Asia, has his eyes glued on buying British airline Virgin Atlantic.

Fernandes had expressed his interest on bidding for the British airline in the past too, but decided against it. According to a report in eTurboNews, the British airline has now received several lines of enquiry about tie-ups with rivals after it hired Deutsche Bank to assess the aviation market. The bank hasn t named the interested parties.

The deal is estimated to amount to GBP one-billion. Both companies haven t released any statements regarding the matter.
