German Delegation on Trade Statistics Visited NBS

On the morning of 28 May 2008, Mr. Xie Hongguang, Deputy Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) met with the Trade Statistical Delegation from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (FSO), headed by Ms. Sibylle von Oppeln-Bronikowski of Head of the Department of Prices, Foreign Trade, Traffic and Wages of FSO.

First of all, Mr. Xie reviewed the friendly and long-term cooperation of the statistical agencies of two countries over the past years and extended the gratitude to FSO for its great assistance to Sino-German statistical projects.

Ms. Sibylle von Oppeln-Bronikowski, on behalf of all staff members of FSO, conveyed the greetings to and expressed sympathy for the people of Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster Area of China, and passed a letter from Mr. Walter Radermacher, President of FSO to Mr. Xie Fuzhan, Commissioner of NBS and explained that FSO made a donation to the people of our disaster area. Mr. Xie expressed thanks to FSO for their sympathy and donation in this regard.

Attendants to the meeting were Messrs. Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Mr. Lin Tao, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Trade and External Economic Relations Statistics.
