Producers' Price Index for Manufactured Goods Rose 2.8 Percent in November

In November, Producers Price Index for manufactured goods experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.8 percent, the purchasing price for raw materials, fuels and power rose by 4.8 percent.

Producers price for means of production was up by 3.4 over the same month of the previous year. Of which, price for mining and quarrying industry increased 1.9 percent, that for raw material industry and machining industry rose by 5.9 and 2.3 percent respectively. Producers price for means of subsistence was up by 1.0 percent. Of which, price for food was up by 2.6 percent, that for clothing up by 1.3 percent, that for commodities up by 1.3 percent, while price for durable consumer goods decreased 2.0 percent.

In terms of categories:

-- Producers price for crude oil dropped 1.2 percent over the same month of last year. Prices for oil products, such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel increased 12.9, 12.2, and 10.6 percent respectively.

-- Producers price for polystyrene grew by 16.5 percent over last November, price for latex dropped 0.2 percent, while that for terylene rose by 7.8 percent.

--Producers price for mining and cleaning industry increased 2.5 percent year-on-year. Of which, price for crude coal rose by 2.3 percent.

-- Producers price for smelting and pressing of ferrous metals rose by 1.3 percent year-on-year. Of the total, producer s price for ordinary large rolled-steels, medium rolled-steels decreased 0.3 percent both, that for small rolled-steels, wire rod and heavy steel plate rose by 1.2, 2.6 and 3.8 percent respectively.

-- Producers price for smelting and pressing of nonferrous metals gained a year-on-year increase of 26.7 percent. Of which, copper, aluminum, plumbum and zinc increased in the range of 12.6 to 64.7 percent.

Besides, within the purchasing price for raw materials, fuels and power products, prices for fuel and power, non-ferrous metal materials and chemical materials experienced a year-on-year increase of 4.0, 36.3 and 4.3 percent, whereas price for the ferrous metal declined by 0.4 percent.

Compared with the same period of the previous year, producers price for manufactured goods during the January to November grew by 2.9 percent, that for raw materials, fuels and power rose by 6.1 percent.
