Seizes Ivory Figures (with photo)

Officers of Customs Office in Post Office stationed by Tianjin Customs District said they had seized three ivory Kwan Yin figures from an express parcel recently. The figures had been hidden in a pair of shoes to avoid customs control, said the officers.
Officers said several days ago when they were scanning the items in a express parcel which were declared as shoes and presents , they found out that there were three 10 centimeter-high articles inside the shoes. Later, the three were confirmed by the Tianjin Sub Office of the Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office of China as ivory products. The ivory figures which weighed 0.4 kilograms were detained by the Customs administration.
