On 16 Dec., Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture, met with Favsal Ibrahim, Sudanese Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries. The two sides exchanged views on intensifying the cooperation on animal husbandry and fisheries between the two countries.
Minister Han said that China and Sudan had maintained friendly partnership since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1959 and the bilateral agricultural cooperation had been going smoothly especially after the successful convening of the Beijing Summit and the fourth Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. The two sides had jointly implemented projects on agricultural technology demonstration centers, technical assistance from senior agricultural experts, human resources development and some other aspects, which had yield good results. The visit of Minister Ibrahim would help to increase the mutual understanding of the two sides in terms of animal husbandry and fisheries and promote the bilateral exchange and cooperation in these fields. The Chinese side was ready to develop diversified collaboration with the Sudanese side in the fields of animal husbandry, animal health and fisheries.
Minister Ibrahim spoke highly of the long-term friendly partnership between Sudan and China and noted that learning from China s advanced technologies and management experience in the fields of animal husbandry and fisheries would be very helpful for Sudan to facilitate the development of its animal husbandry and fisheries and efforts would be made to strengthen and expand the bilateral cooperation in these fields.
