ZTE Unveils New Unified Open Environment Platform

ZTE, one of the largest telecommunications manufacturers in China has unveiled the Unified Open Environment (UOE) platform to support telecom operators in developing and offering new mobile services to keep up with competitors in the market.
The new UOE platform enables telecom operators to take advantage of implementing in-house developed network services in a converged infrastructure, as well as partner with equipment vendors to develop unique value added services, such as mobile newspapers, mobile stock exchange, instant mobile news, video conferencing, voicemail and BlackBerry (News - Alert) applications.
Wang Xiang, vice president and general manager of ZTE s (News - Alert) VAS products, said that the new UOE solution enables the most efficient and flexible network infrastructure for the telecom industry and takes mobile operators to a new level of true network service convergence.
The new ZTE UOE network solution offers an open module service capability that provides telecom operators a unified management platform for integrated service management operation and monitoring.
Xiang added, It is a key component to success for promoting the growth and development of value added mobile services, hence sustaining network service quality and enhancing user experience.
According to the company, the new UOE platform will meet the future global demand for network expansion and application development. It will also increase the efficiency in meeting customers needs, and enhance the market competitiveness of telecom service providers.
User-friendly development tools will enable mobile application developers and a large community of developers to participate in value added network service development initiatives managed by telecom, says the company.
